Come, come, whoever you are.
Wanderer, worshiper, lover of leaving.
It doesn't matter.
Ours is not a caravan of despair.
Come, even if you have broken your vow
a thousand times
Come, yet again, come, come.
— Jelaluddin Rumi
Hello, dear reader. My name is Heather C. Rose. Welcome to my world, The Sea Rose.
I have always been a wanderer. As a child, I longed to sail the seven seas like Pippi Longstocking, and those dreams of freedom never left me. After years of study and work in psychology, a series of vivid dreams called me out into the world. At twenty-five, I set off with a one-way ticket to Asia and spent thirteen years living between Thailand, India, and beyond. Those years became my true education—through dance, meditation, the natural world, and encounters with the sacred in its many forms.
Through all my journeys, four passions have guided me: exploration, writing, animals, and the mystery of the divine. Adventure runs like a luminous thread through my stories, the lighthouse by which I steer my writing. My two books, Five Rupees and The Star of Happiness, were born in distant lands, written with salty air in my hair and the world’s colors in my eyes.
Animals have been my companions, teachers, and allies for as long as I can remember. From the neighborhood cat I followed as a toddler to the dogs, horses, dolphins, and wild creatures I’ve met across the world, they have guided me into deeper ways of listening. My work with animals is rooted in this lifelong relationship—an honoring of their wisdom, their spirits, and their unique ways of communicating. I see animals as bridges between worlds, carriers of messages, and soul-companions who remind us of our own wildness and belonging. Through story, intuition, and heart, I help people reconnect with the animals in their lives and the lessons they bring.
Hawaii eventually became another teacher, anchoring me in its volcanic heart and offering lessons in belonging, culture, and the Divine Feminine. To this day, I live between worlds—part rooted, part roaming, always seeking the shimmer of magic in the ordinary.
I am a traveler, writer, and guide into the unseen. My work is to honor the sacred and ignite the magic within and around us.
